Postville - Services for E. W. Green, 79, were held Sunday at the Schutte funeral home.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home for Edward W. Green, 79, who passed away at his farm home on Friday. Rev. Walter T. Martin, pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church, was in charge of the rites.

Burial was in Postville cemetery. Mrs. Ted Green was soloist with Mrs. Blake Albright acting as accompanist.

Edward W. Green, son of Ann Eliza and Melvin Green, was born October 24, 1871 on a farm four and one-half miles northeast of Castalia. He passed away Friday, June 15, 1951 at his farm home at the age of 79 years. The farm was settled by his grandfather Gideon Green in 1850.

On November 15, 1893 Edward Green was married to Margaret Bollman at Decorah. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary November 15, 1943. Their married life extended over a period of fifty-seven and one-half years.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Ralph of Postville, Chester and Kenneth of Castalia; two daughters, Mrs. L.C. Sheppard of Worland, Wyoming and Mrs. H.E. McLain, Pharr, Texas; one brother, Allen of Castalia; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Mr. Green was a member of the Woodman lodge. He was a breeder of Shorthorn cattle, winning for himself quite a reputation for his stock. He was active in farmer's cooperative enterprises in this community throughout the years and held the office of treasurer of the Postville Farmer's Cooperative society for many years.
