Jeanne Wilde, 79, of Lansing, died Monday, November 3, 2003, at Thornton Manor Nursing Home in Lansing. Memorial services were held Friday, November 7 at the United Methodist Church in Lansing with Rev. Keith Putney officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing.
Jeanne was born in Lansing July 31, 1924, to Albert and Mildred (Mugge) Kehr. She married Mit Wilde on March 23, 1946, at Bloomington, Mo. Jeanne graduated from the University of Dubuque and taught business administration for many years at DeSoto High School. Jeanne was a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, loved to knit and make afghans, of which she has given one to each grandchild and other family members and friends. Also, in her spare time she enjoyed reading. Her family and friends were an important part of her life. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Mit Wilde of Lansing; five children, John (Joanne) Wilde of La Crescent, Minn., Lyn (Jim) White of Decorah, Lee Ann (Doug) Bulman of Oelwein, and Jerry (Polly) Wilde of Richmond, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dodie (Ralph) Bartels of Lansing.
