Marian A. Scheffert, age 76, of North Liberty, Iowa, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, after dealing with a long courageous battle of congestive heart failure and lung cancer at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. A private burial will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Marian was born on November 5, 1938 in Waterville, Iowa to Lawrence and Harriet (Kelly) Livingston. Her banking career started while she was in high school, working part-time for the Waterville State Bank. After graduating from the Waterville High School in 1956, Marian attended AIB banking college in Omaha, Nebraska and worked in the banking industry for 43 years starting at the U.S Bank, then City National Bank, and then becoming Senior Vice President of Operations for Guaranty Bank and Trust where she worked for 28 years. Marian married the love of her life, Arlen Lee Scheffert on April 23, 1960 and they recently were blessed to celebrate their 55th Wedding Anniversary.

Marian is survived by her husband, Arlen Scheffert, North Liberty; son, Tony Scheffert, Cedar Rapids; daughter Terry (Paul) Gorman, Rochester, Minnesota; and daughter Tracy (Scott) Winker, Marion; five wonderful grandchildren who she loved dearly: Chad, Katelyn, Calvin, Grace, and Ellen; and two brothers, Jim Livingston and Jack Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Annie and her brother, Keith Livingston.

Marian had a very big heart and was kind and loving to all. She was hardworking, fun, witty, and enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and friends. She will be missed by all and forever loved.
