Mrs. Fred Ruckdaschel passed away at her home in Postville on Monday, November 16, at 3:45 p.m.

Her maiden name was Rosine Wilhelmina Koenig. She was born on September 22, 1878, in Clayton county and in infancy was baptized at Zion's Lutheran Church in Clayton Center.

On February 22, 1906, she was married to Fred C. Ruckdaschel. To this union was born one son. The first five years after their marriage the family lived on the farm east of Postville. In the year 1911 they moved to this city and have resided here ever since.

Besides her bereaved husband she leaves to mourn, her son, Elrie, and little granddaughter, Sallie Ann, also three brothers, Louis, William, and Fritz Koenig, all of Castalia, and three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Poesch, Mrs. Mary Schroeder, both of Postville, and Mrs. Lena Christofferson of Cedar Rapids, and many other relatives and friends. Two sisters preceded her in death.

She was a faithful and loving christian wife and mother who is mourned deeply by those who loved her most. She was a sincere and sympathetic friend and neighbor, esteemed by all who knew her. She was a humble follower of her Lord and Savior Jesus. She loved her church and its services, taking her religion seriously and was busily engaged in doing the Lord's work being a member of the Ladies' Aid Society, the Women's Missionary Society and the Ladies' Sunday School class. She leaves a vacant place both in her home and in her church.

She was aged 53 years, 1 month and 24 days. Funeral services were held on last Thursday afternoon from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in this city, with the Rev. R.B. Garten officiating. Interment was in the Postville cemetery.
