Jens H. Faraasen, brief mention of whose death was made last week in this paper, came to Iowa thirty-eight years ago. He spent the first year after coming to America at Rock Prairie, Wis., afterwards coming to Allamakee county, where he had resided since.

He had been in good health until two weeks before he died. Mr. Faraasen was a man highly respected in the community in which he resided, always kind and generous in his nature.

He leaves a widow and seven children, four girls and three boys. The funeral took place on Friday, the remains being interred at the Faegre Prairie burying ground.

A daughter, Mrs. Korslund, arrived in time to see her father before he died.
