(Lansing Mirror, 8 May 1891 P 3)Death of Grandma Haynes.--- As briefly noted in these columns last week, the death of Mrs. Sarah A. Haynes occurred on the 7th inst. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. T. C. (sic) Medary, in Waukon. Interment was had in Oak Hill cemetery, in this place, on Saturday, Elder Houghton officiating. A large concourse of Lansing friends who for years had been intimately acquainted with deceased, gathered at the cemetery at the appointed hour to pay the last tribute to one who was highly respected in this community. Wherever the kind ministrations of one were needed in the sick room, or consolation required by those in distress, none could be found more willing to render aid than Grandma Haynes. Her many kindnesses will long linger in the memory of our people.
