Harry Dee Was Native of County And Died Here
Harry Charles Dee passed away Thursday morning, April 3, about 7 o'clock at his farm home. Death
was unexpected as he had been ill only about a week.Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 5 afternoon at 1:30 from Martin's funeral home and 2 o'clock at Zion Evangelical and Reformed church, with the Rev. W. E. Odenbach, officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clarence Leppert, John Schellhammer, Ben Marti, Harold Fritz, Henry Krumme and Herbert Hartong. Harry Charles Dee was the son of Charles and Emma (Feuerhelm) Dee. He was born in Center township near Lansing, Oct. 5, 1888. He was baptized in infancy.
Mr. Dee was a member of Lansing Evangelical church, until his coming to Waukon after which time he was a member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed church.
On March 26, 1919 he was married to Clara Layer. They made their home in Mays Prairie community near Lansing until 1941, then they moved to Waukon, where they have resided since. He was 69 years old at the time of his death.
He leaves his wife Clara, son Harold and three grandsons, Lyle, David and Gary. The former two made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Dee. He also leaves one sister (Agnes) Mrs. Harry Bakewell of Kasson, Minn., a brother Leonard of Lansing and a brother Clinton of New Albin. His parents, one brother, Tresco and one sister Hattie, Mrs. Wm. Marti have preceded him.
