Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Saturday for Louis Luebka, 73, who passed away at his home following a brief illness on Wednesday, June 14. The rites were conducted by Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig, pastor of St. Paul's. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

Louis Carl John Luebka, son of Fred Luebka and Sophia Gravet Luebka, was born October 24, 1876, on a farm near Sauk City, Wisconsin, and died at his late home in Postville, after a brief illness on June 14, aged 73 years.

Mr. Luebka was received into active membership in the Lutheran Church in the St. Paul's congregation of Postville on March 22, 1891.

Mr. Luebka was united in marriage with Anna Stopperan of Postville on Nov. 27, 1900. To this union six children were born, five of whom survive the passing of their father.

Born on a farm near Saux City, Wisconsin, Mr. Luebka accompanied his parents to Iowa as a young child, and spent approximately 70 years on the farm northwest of Postville, which was his home until retiring to Postville about two years ago.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife; five children, Elmer of Castalia, Clarence of Dubuque, Roy of Postville, Hazel (Mrs. Arno Backhaus) of Postville, and Merle of Monona; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Luebka was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter (Violet) who died in infancy, three brothers and one sister.
