Waukon- William Winke, 82, died Friday at his home in Waukon following an illness of several months. He was a lifelong resident of Allamakee county and was born in Ludlow township April 23, 1868, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Winke.

He continued to live in Ludlow township until six years ago, when he moved to Waukon to make his home. He married Lydia Meier in August, 1893.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Kugel and Mrs. Alfred Ludeking, both of Waukon; and four sons, Elmer, George, Emmett and Walter, farmers near Waukon; a brother, Fred, who is now 87; and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the home Monday preceding services at Zalmona church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
