Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Zalmona Presbyterian Church in Ludlow for John Flage, 80, who passed away at his home early last Wednesday morning. The rites were conducted by Rev. Henry Johnson.

Mr. Flage had been a lifelong resident of Allamakee county. His death followed an extended period of failing health.

He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Flage, early settlers in Ludlow, where he was born February 22, 1870. That vicinity was his home all his life with the exception of five years when he engaged in the grocery business in Waukon.

Surviving are seven children, namely; Ed and Mrs. Gustave Herman (Edna), Waukon; Harvey, Ludlow; Alvin, New York City; Mrs. Chris Reinhardt (Mary), Cresco; Mrs. Everett Palmer (Laura), Waterville; and Mrs. Albert Hilmer (Ethel), on the home farm, Ludlow. Mrs. Flage passed away April 14, 1948.
