Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, Wednesday, December 17 at 2:30 p.m. for Henry Lange, who died Monday, December 15 at Community Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Dick Harberts officiated. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
Henry August Lange, was the son of August Carl and Fredricka Niehouse Lange. He was born January 25, 1891 in Postville, receiving his schooling and spent his childhood in Postville.
He was united in marriage June 23, 1913, to Alika Harris at Waukon. Mr. Lange worked as a school janitor for many years, did carpentering and also worked for the city water department. He was a member of the local Odd Fellows Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one step-daughter, Mrs. J. E. (Maude) Welsch; two brothers, Bernard and Fred Lange and a sister, Mrs. George (Lucy) Brown.
He is survived by five stepsons: Roy W., Phoenix, Arizona; David Leo, Thermopolis, Wyoming; George Dewey, Mason City; Joe Charles, Seattle, Washington and Cyrus Andrew, Kenosha, Wisconsin; three sisters: Mrs. George (Julia) Wharam, Mason City; Mrs. Sam (Hannah) Carney, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Edna Lange, Chicago, Illinois. There are eight step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He married Alida Louise 'Lydia' (Harrington) Harris. She was the widow of Charles A. Harris, who committed suicide 10/31/1902. She was the daughter of D'Esting Harrington and Nancy A. Burnham. Alida died 09/04/1961.
