Hall Rathbun Passes On At No. Hollywood, Calif.

Hall Rathbun, 72, a native of this community, passed away at his home in North Hollywood, Calif., Sunday, August 4.

He was born on the old Rathbun farm west of Postville on April 10, 1874. After attending business college and working in a store at Arlington, he went to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1904 as a representative of a trade publication. In 1921 he opened the first general store in "the valley" now known as North Hollywood.

He was a brother of the late Blake Rathbun and is survived by his wife, a son, two daughters and two grandchildren in California, two brothers, Fred, of Decorah, and Bert of Harpers Ferry, and sister, Mrs. W. E. Cornell, of Ossian.

Christian Science services were held for Mr. Rathbun last Wednesday.
