After an illness of several months, Solomon Perkins, died at the home of his daughter. Mrs. David Dickson, in this city, Sunday morning. Mr. Perkins was born at Athol, Warren county, New York, October 11, 1814, and came to Iowa in 1866. In 1836 he was united in marriage with Miss Huldah Smith at Athol, New York, who died in 1888. To them nine children were born, six of whom survive the parents, Mary Tucker, of Warrensburg, New York; H.S. Perkins of Needah, Wis; O.R. Perkins of Harmony, Minn; Orpha Clark of Luana, Iowa; J.O. Perkins of Forest Mills, Iowa and Mrs. Charlotte Dickson, of this city, with whom he has made his home for some time, and in which home he has been tenderly cared for the the members of the family from the oldest to the youngest during his stay with them, nothing being denied him. If the David Dickson family is not rewarded in the here-after there is no one entitled to enter the golden gate. Funeral services were held at the Dickson home yesterday forenoon, conducted by Rev. Van Nice and the remains taken to Bethel for interment.
