Waukon, Ia., Jan. 23 - Mrs. Teresa Hawes, well known resident of Harpers Ferry, died Thursday in St. Francis hospital, La Crosse, where she had been taken the week before. The body was transferred to Harpers Ferry for funeral rites and interment. Mrs. Hawes is survived by several sons and daughters.

Lansing, Ia., Feb. 1 - A mass of requiem was read in the Wexford Catholic church Saturday morning for Mrs. Joseph Hawes, the Rev. Father Nolan of Paint Rock, assisted by the Rev. Fathers O'Sullivan of Wexford and Horsfield of McGregor, officiating.

Mrs. Hawes, whose maiden name was Theresa Duncan, was born in Wexford in 1856, her entire lifetime being spent in tis vicinity. She was married to Joseph Hawes in 1885.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Neal Manning, Mrs. Patrick Murphy and Mrs. Bernard Valley; three sons, Joseph, John and Edward, all of this locality; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Manning, Humboldt, S.D., Mrs. Rose Healy and Mrs. Anna Donelon, Reliance, S.D., and one brother Edward Duncan, Lansing.

The pallbearers were Joseph [?Jones], James Dowdal, Leo Joyce, Michael Mooney, William Valley and William Collins.
