Waukon, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis C. Hellickson, 83, who died Monday evening at her home, where she had been confined as the result of injuries suffered in a fall several months ago, will be held at St. John's Lutheran church here Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
Mrs. Hellickson, the former Bessie Sando, was born on Oct. 5, 1860, in Norway, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Sando. The family came to Allamakee county when she was eight years of age, and settled on a farm in Paint Creek township. Following her marriage to Lewis Hellickson, they resided at Mabel, Minn., and for 40 years resided in Waukon. Her husband died in April, 1941.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Earl Markley, Waukon, and Mrs. Donald Dayton, Houston, Tex., who has been assisting in the care of her mother; two sons, Leonard and Lee, both of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Larson, of near Waukon, and Mrs. Anna Sevatson, Decorah, Ia.
