Mrs. John Roffman
When Mrs. John Roffman passed away Sunday morning at five o'clock Post township lost its oldest inhabitant. Born in Berlin, Germany, as Minnie Blunk, September 11, 1839, Mrs. Roffman attained the ripe old age of 96 years less 16 days.

Oldest Post Resident Passed Away Sunday
When Mrs. John Roffman passed away Sunday morning at five o'clock, Post township lost it oldest inhabitant.Born in Berlin, Germany, as Minnie Blunk, September 11, 1839, Mrs. Roffman, attained the ripe old age of 96 years less 16 days.
She had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Will Lawson.
Deceased was married to John Roffman in April 1860 and together they came to America in 1871, first settling in Michigan and later coming to Iowa where she has since resided.
Her husband and one son preceded her, the husband in 1884 and the son, John, in 1932.
Seven children survive, Mrs. will Lawson, Postville; Mrs. Henry Dundee, Luana; Frank Roffman, Postville; Mrs. Chris Eckert, Luana; Mrs. John Eckert, Waukon; Mrs. Henry VanGorder, Postville; and Will Roffman, Luana. There are also 29 grand-children, 46 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren surviving.
Funeral services were held in the Schutte funeral Rooms Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. R.F. Galloway officiating. Interment was in Smith cemetery in Post township.
