Grace E. Anderson

Funeral services were held for Grace Esther Anderson Monday, Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service, Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Grace Esther Anderson, daughter of Gilbert and Julia Louise (Rema) Jeglum, was born Jan. 8, 1901 at Waterville, IA. She died Nov. 28, 1986 in the Northgate Care Center, Waukon.

She was baptized and confirmed at the Old East Paint Creek Church near Waukon. She graduated from Waukon High School and attended a business college at Dubuque.

On Oct. 24, 1923 she was married to O. C. Cayton. They had one son, Richard. They lived in Colorado Springs, CO from 1924 to 1934. After the death of her husband, Grace moved to Waterville, IA.

On Nov. 12, 1941 she was married to Theodore R. Anderson at LaCrosse, WI. They have lived in Postville since 1941.

She is preceded in death by her husband, O. C. Cayton, a grandson, Ricky J. Cayton, 2 brothers, LeRoy and James Jeglum, and 2 sisters, Olga Goezinger and Mabel Hausman.

Surviving are her husband, Ted, a son, Richard James Cayton and his wife, Patricia of Wilton, 5 grandchildren, Mark, Kevin, James, Denise Mettner and Diana Baccarini, 9 great-grandchildren and a sister, Inez (Mrs. Lloyd Bruce) of Postville.

Casket bearers were Mark Cayton, James Cayton, Louis Baccarini, Kevin Cayton, Tom Mettner and Boyd Jeglum.

POSTVILLE, Iowa -- Grace E. Anderson, 85, of Postville died Friday morning, Nov. 28, 1986, at Northgate Care Center, Waukon.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, with burial in Postville Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday at Schutte Funeral Home, Postville. Surviving are her husband, Ted; a son, Richard Cayton of Wilton; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Inez) Bruce of Postville.
