Alyce Cora Davidson
WHITEHALL, Wis. - Alyce Cora Davidson, 84, of Whitehall died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, in Tri-County Memorial Nursing Home in Whitehall. Alyce was born Jan. 7, 1918, in the town of Hale, Trempealeau County, Wis., to Hans and Anna (Johnson) Lee. She married Ernest P. "Tubby" Davidson on Feb. 8, 1940, in Allamakee County, Iowa. Tubby preceded Alyce in death on May 18, 1979. Alyce and Tubby worked at Whitehall Locker Plant and later managed the City Cafe, the Firpos Cafe and Hotel Walgert. Alyce also worked at Whitehall Variety Store prior to her retirement. Alyce enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting, fishing and board games. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Hutchins-Stendahl American Legion Post No. 191 Auxiliary and the Birthday Club. Mrs. Davidson is survived by a sister, Anne Herbert of San Jose, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Audrey and Marie Lee, both of Whitehall; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Alyce was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Memorial services will be Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at 1 p.m. in Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall, with Pastor Gloria Friedrich officiating. Burial will be in Old Whitehall Cemetery in rural Whitehall.
