Lansing, Ia. - Funeral services for August Ahlstrom, 82, were held Thursday afternoon at Calvary Evangelical Church with the Rev. DeWitt Stauffer, pastor, officiating. Mr. Ahlstrom died Tuesday following a long period of ill health.

A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. Ahlstrom, he was born in Center Township, Allamakee County on Aug. 28, 1856. He was educated in the rural schools and when 16 years old began his trade as stone mason which he followed for 63 years.

He was married to Anna Eastman on June 3, 1886 and for 10 years they lived at Minneapolis. Later they established a home in Lansing.

He is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Della Pixler of West Union and Mrs. Effie Spinner and Mrs. Vera Rasmusson, both of Minneapolis; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Fisher of Hope, N.D., and Mrs. Bessie Ahlstrom of Minneapolis; two brothers, Tony of Waukon and Enoch of Buffalo, Minn.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
