Obituary for Gertrude Warren Waukon Standard October 23, 2001

Gertrude Mignon Stock Warren was born August 1, 1910 on the Jefferson Township farm of her parents, Louis and Edith Adell (Beebe) Stock. She attended Jefferson #2 rural school and later Waukon Elementary and Waukon High School. In 1932 she married Harold Roth in Dixon, IL. They were later divorced. From 1942 until 1948 Gertrude operated the West Side Standard Station in Waukon. On January 22, 1948 she married Thomas Atkin Warren in Waukegan, IL. They lived in Waukegan until returning to Iowa in 1968 and settling on an acreage in Franklin Township. She enjoyed gardening and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Thomas; a son, Donald Roth; a granddaughter, Mary Colleen Boland; a sister, Marion (Earl) Miller; and a brother, Earl Stock. Survivors include 3 daughters, Judith Baxter of Winfield, KS, Joan Boland of Brookfield, WI and Jan (Dave) Miller of Postville; a son, Richard (Ginny Kreyer) Warren of Bangor, WI; 4 grandchildren, John (Rita) Baxter of Granger, IN, Kathleen (Mike) Rice of Chandler, AZ, Jane (Craig) Bulluck of Shorewood, WI, and Josie Smith of Postville; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sam and Sara Baxter and Henry Bulluck.
