Fred Goeke Is Taken Suddenly

Stroke of apoplexy fatal to Waukon Man at age of seventy-seven

Fred Goeke, 77, passed away Friday morning following a stroke of apoplexy.

He was born December 31, 1861, at Mantiwoc, Wisconsin.

He leaves to mourn his death three sons, Samuel of Lexingon, Nebraska, John and George of Ludlow township and a daughter, Mrs. Fred Beall of Waukon.

One sister and three brothers also survive, Mrs. August Meyer of Fairbury, Nebraska, Charles and Ernest of Baxter (Iowa) and Conrad of Ludlow township.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Martin Chapel, with the Reverend F. E. Stucki officiating, and burial was in Oakland cemetery.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were Charles, Ernest, Laura and Hilda Goeke of Baxter.
