Young wife died-
The following particulars of the death of a former Lafayette girl, Mary
Randolph, well known in this city, are gleaned from Wednesdays 'Dubuque Herald': "The
home of Mr. J.W.Garin, 2060 White Street, is shrouded in sorrow. His wife,
Mrs. Mary Garin, died at 11 o'clock this morning. But a few months ago this
paper chronicled the accidental death, by an overdose of quinine, of Mr. Garin's
little daughter.
Later his baby boy died. Truly his cup of sorrow has been filled to
overflowing. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to Mr. Garin in his
dreadful affliction. Mrs. Garin was only 32 years of age. A devoted wife & loving
mother, she will be sorely missed by the sorrowing husband & little children left
to mourn her irreparable loss. She is also survived by her mother, sister & 5
brothers. The remains will be shipped Friday morning to Harpers Ferry, for
interment. Service will be held in the Catholic Church at that place.-source: Lansing newpaper, Dec. 6, 1899
