Waukon, Ia. - Martine Halseth, 75, well-to-do farmer, died suddenly near his farm home, 10 miles south of Waukon, late Saturday afternoon. Mr. Halseth was on his way to visit the Soss (sic) family, neighbors, when he was stricken by a heart attack in the road way. Herbert Sossum (sic) found the body. He was born in Norway, but had lived practically all his life near Waukon. He was married twice, both wives being dead. The only close relative alive is a brother, Matt of Minot, N. Dakota.

Waukon, Ia. - The funeral of Martin Halseth, 75, Paint Creek Township farmer, was held Wednesday afternoon at the Old West Paint Creek Church, conducted by the Rev. A.P. Lea, pastor. Burial was in the family lot in the nearby cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Benjamin Peterson, Otto and Carl Sanderson, Otennius and I.O. Bakke, and Oscar Gilbertson.

Mr. Halseth was found dead Saturday afternoon by Harold Fossum on the road halfway between his home and that of his neighbor, Theodore Fossum. Death was believed due to a heart attack. He lived alone since the death of his wife about five years ago.

~DOD = 12/31/1938 and burial is in Old West Paint Creek cemetery. Correct surname for the neighbor is Fossum, rather than Sossum.
