Mrs. John Stock, 82, died Thursday night at the Decorah Hospital from third degree burns received when a bottle of stove polish she was using exploded at her home December 24 (1947)
Anna Friedericke Dravis was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Dravis Sr., early settlers in Jefferson township where she was born August 5, 1865.
In 1890 her marriage to John Stock took place at the parental residence, and that vicinity was her home until 1939 when she and her only daughter, Lydia, purchased a residence in Waukon.
Mr. Stock preceded her in death in 1926 and Lydia died in 1938. Three brothers survive. They are Henry and Paul of Waukon, and Benjamin, who came from Marshalltown to attend the funeral services.
Mrs. Stock was a member of the Presbyterian church and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. H. Grossheim Monday afternoon at the Martin funeral home.
Burial took place in the family lot in Oakland cemetery, the pall bearers being Floyd Larson, Fred Meier, Sylvan Hinrichs, Frank Dunning, Herman Roth and I. E. Beeman.
