New Albin, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Mathilda Weymiller, 82, were held at the home here with the Rev. E.J. Florin, pastor of St. Peter's Evangelical Church, officiating. Burial was in the New Albin Cemetery. The pallbearers were six nephews: Walter, Frank Jr., Edward Weymiller, and Robert and Grover Arndt.
Mrs. Weymiller died at her home here following a long illness.
As Mathilda Arndt, she was born Nov. 14, 1857 in Germany, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Arndt. When nine years old, she came to America with her parents, the family settling [illegible] Dubuque. Later they moved to a farm in Houston County, Minnesota, three miles north of here.
She was married Aug. 9, 1881 to Louis P. Weymiller and they farmed in Allamakee County until 1917 when they retired and moved to New Albin. Her husband died in 1924.
Surviving are five daughters: Mrs. L.F. Hoover of Chicago, Mrs. R.F. Brainard of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. W.J. Schuettler and Mrs. O.R. Barthel, both of New Albin, and Lillian at home; three sons, Lewis of Los Angeles, Calif., and Robert and Fred, both of New Albin; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
