Services Held For Oscar J. Nyberg

Services were held Sunday, October 18, 1970 at Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder, for Oscar J. Nyberg, Postville businessman, who died at his home in Postville, October 15. The Rev. Robert Henriksen officiated.

Oscar John Nyberg, son of Andrew and Julia Nyberg, was born July 27, 1887 in Marion township near Gunder. He was united in marriage to Selina Jenson, January 22, 1915. To this union six children were born.

He was in business 30 years in Gunder and had operated a farm supply store in Postville for 26 years, also having been a distributor for Holland-made twine in Iowa.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Allard of Postville; a daughter, Mrs. Harlan Troy of St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry of Postville; two sisters, Mrs. Gilman Knutson of Renner, South Dakota and Mrs. Elmer Osmundson of Clermont.

He was preceded in death by four children, his parents and one brother, Melvin.

Burial was in the Marion Cemetery.
