Funeral services for Martha L. Nyberg, 90, were held Saturday, Sept. 5, 1992, at Muehlenthaler Funeral Home, Elgin. Rev. Albert Hock officiated the service with burial in Marion Lutheran Cemetery, Gunder. Pallbearers were Thomas Nyberg, Lloyd Wiedow, Melvin Lightfoot and Glen Odegard.

Martha L. Nyberg was born June 19, 1902, at Clermont, the daughter of Ole and Randi (Nelson) Larson. She grew up and was educated in the area attending rural schools. On November 3, 1923, she married Henry Nyberg in Postville. A son was born to this union. They lived all of their married life in the Elgin and Gunder area. He died in 1974. For the past six months, she has resided in the Grandview Nursing Center at Oelwein, where she died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1992.

Survivors include her son Ervin of West Union; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother Joe Larson of LaCrosse, Wis.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers and sisters, and a grandson Ervin, Jr., 1965.
