McGregor, Ia. - Services for Miss Ellen Broderick, 83, were held Thursday in Paint Rock church, near Harpers Ferry, the Rev. John Costello officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Miss Broderick died Monday at Mercy hospital in Dubuque, where she had been for several weeks, following a hip fracture. The body was brought to McGregor to the home of her niece, Mrs. Anna Aird.
She was the last of five sons and daughters of Thomas and Ellen Broderick, pioneer farmers of Taylor township near Harpers Ferry. She lived in McGregor for many years. Of late years she had been at St. Anthony's home, in Dubuque.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, three of whom, besides Mrs. Aird live in McGregor. They are Bridget, Mayme, and Joe Broderick. Others are Martin Broderick, Clarinda; William Patrick, Dubuque; and Mrs. Albert Barr, Cedar Rapids.
