Waukon, Ia. - Funeral services for August H. Sherman, 76, who died Monday at his farm home, southeast of Waukon, following a stroke, will be held from the home to the Zion Reformed church Friday afternoon. The Rev. Frank E. Stucki, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in the Ebenezer cemetery, near the Sherman home.

Mr. Sherman was born Jan. 1, 1869, on the Sherman homestead, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sherman, early settlers here. In the fall of 1908 he was married to Sophia Nagel, of this vicinity.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Nelson, at home; one sister, Mrs. A.H. Haas, Sioux Falls, S.D., and two brothers, George H. Sherman, of Howard, S.D. and Louis E. Sherman, Waukon. He was preceded by a daughter, who died in infancy.
