ALCOTT RITES SATURDAY
Burial services for Burton Alcott, 79, of Whitewater, Wis., were held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover, Saturday with prayers by the pastor, the Rev. J.P. Fagan. Interment was made in the family lot by the side of his wife who was Mary McCormick, of near Waukon. Her death occurred some years ago at Whitewater.
His only immediate survivor is a married daughter living near Milwaukee.
~Lansing Mirror 1955Note: I checked the LDS website & it gives Mrs. Alcott as the daughter of Patrick McCormack & Lucy Comack. Berton & Mary were married in Wisc. on 11/20/1905. Both spellings of McCormick & Berton were given.

Whitewater - funeral services for Berton Alcott, 80, who died Wednesday in a Milwaukee Hospital, will be at 7 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Catholic church, the Rev. Thomas Berry officiating. Burial will be at Hanover, Iowa*. The Rosary will be said at 8:30 tonight in the Skindingsrude and Lein Funeral Home.
The son of Almound and Janette Gifford Alcott, he was born Dec. 28, 1874, in New York. He was married to Mary Ann McCormack in 1904 in Milwaukee. A graduate of the Hardens Optical College in St. Louis, he traveled with the American Optical Co. until opening an optometry practice here in 1914. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Big Bend; a son, Vincent of Shorewood, and four grandchildren.
