Harold Schulte
Harold Joseph Schulte was born Dec. 25, 1923 in Dorchester to Joseph and Rose (Duffy) Schulte, and in 1944 married Ruth Burns in Waukon.
He farmed in the Swisher area and was a carpenter until his retirement. He was a member of St. Ludmilas Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
Harold died Monday, Aug. 15, 1994 in University Hospitals in Iowa City. He was 70 years of age.
Surviving are his wife Ruth of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Mark and Dean of Cedar Rapids and Scott of Minneapolis, Mn.; three daughters, Mary Lynn Joens of Cedar, Susan Dubishar of Swisher and Sandra Whitters of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Leon of Waukon; seven sisters, Aileen Hammel of Cresco, Adele Howe of Waukon, Lorraine Monserud, Rita May, Joan Troendle and Karen Hammel, all of Cedar Rapids, and Donna Blocker of Marion, and 10 grandchildren.
Two brothers, Dale and Donald, and a sister Blanche preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 at St. Ludmilas Catholic Church. The Rev. Harry Koelker officiated and burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Stewart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
