Leland J. Lundering, 42, a former Cedar Rapids resident, died Sunday in Phoenix following a short illness. He moved to Phoenix in 1959.

Born March 16, 1931, in Highlandville, he was married to Ruthann Sankol June 28, 1953, in Davenport. He was on the Cedar Rapids police department before moving.

He is survived by his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Erling Lundering, New Albin, and a brother, Gail, Tucson, Ariz. Services; Dorchester Methodist church Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Burial: Methodist cemetery at Dorchester. Martin Brothers funeral home, Waukon, is in charge.
