Funeral services for Tina Soride were held Monday, September 30, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville, Iowa. The Reverend Gary Catterson officiated. Special music was provided by the Reverend Connie Peake. The casket bearers were Al Peake, Steve Peake, Ron Haltmeyer, Cloy Kuhse, Neal Van Horn, Greg Rosendahl. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Tina Jo Soride, the daughter of Dennis Earl and Christine Rae (Haltmeyer) Soride, was born June 6, 1978 in Veterans Memorial Hospital at Waukon, Iowa. She passed away Friday, September 27, 2002, in Mercy Hospital at Dubuque, Iowa.

Tina was baptized on August 13, 1978 in the Community Presbyterian Church at Postville. She lived at home until September of 1983. Tina then became a resident of the Hills and Dales Child Development Center in Dubuque. She attended the Dubuque Community Schools.

As a small child, Tina liked to listen to music and to hear the organ played at church. She liked her dad's deep voice and the cows on the farm. She enjoyed having her nails polished and her hair fixed. Tina liked the outings at the Center, and the residents and staff became like her second family. Throughout her life, Tina touched the lives of many people.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ervin Haltmeyer, her paternal grandparents, Clifford and Verna Soride, and 3 uncles, Eugene Haltmeyer, Gary Haltmeyer and Mark Haltmeyer.

Surviving are her parents, Dennis and Chris of rural Postville, a brother, Eric Soride of Iowa City, and a sister, Annette (Ken) Howe of Monona, IA, a niece, Megan Howe, and 2 nephews, Nathan and Zachary Howe; her maternal grandmother, Ernestine Haltmeyer of Waukon, one uncle, Duane (Sharon) Soride of Maryville, TN, 4 aunts, Betty (Eugene) Haltmeyer of Postville, JoAnn (Kenneth) Peake, of Waukon, Alice Haltmeyer (Gary) of Laguna Hills, CA, and Kathy (Mark) Haltmeyer of Muscatine, IA.
