Funeral services for Mrs. G. R. "Dick" Smith were held Friday, Jan. 29, 1984 at 2 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville. The Rev. Dennis E. Morey officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery at Fayette.

Connie, daughter of Russell and Leota (Reinhart) Erion, was born May 25, 1927 at Alta Vista. She died Jan. 17, 1984 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville. She was a graduate of Fayette High School and Upper Iowa University and also attended Wartburg College. On July 10, 1948 she was united in marriage with G. R. "Dick" Smith in Fayette.

She has been a resident of Postville for 14 years and was an active member of the Community Presbyterian Church, current President of Chapter FT., P.E.O., a volunteer reader at the Good Samaritan Center and a volunteer tutor at the Postville Community Schools.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Connie is survived by her husband, Dick, of Postville; 2 daughters, Pam (Roy) Allen of Fordyce, AR and Cindy of Mankato, MN; her father, Russell Erion, of Fayette; a grandson, Kevin Williams of Cedar Rapids; and 2 sisters, Teressa Protsman and Janice Armentrout, both of Cedar Rapids.
