Postville Review, Sat., 8 Dec. 1894.(condensed).
At her residence, one mile west of Postville, on Friday morning, Nov. 30th, 1894, after a lingering illness from consumption, Lucy A., wife of W. H. Dawson, aged 46 years, 9 months and 15 days.
So long as death must come to all it is a consolation to the bereaved to know that the deceased was fully prepared for the change, and had no fear of the king of terrors. For thirty years she had been an earnest and consistent member of the M.E. church, and had done what she could for the cause that she espoused early in life. For twenty-eight years she had lived in the house in which she died - ever since her marriage. Hence she was widely known and respected by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. She leaves a husband and four daughters, one daughter having died in infancy.
The funeral was held from the M.E. church on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Church and Rev. Hand each making appropriate remarks, the large audience room and east room as well being filled with sympathizing friends.
