Henry M. Thimmesch, 71, of New Albin, died on Saturday, July 28, in New Albin.

He was born on July 24, 1902 in Allamakee county the son of Nicholas and Mary Freilinger Thimmesch. He was married on November 19, 1929 at New Albin to Helen Arndt. She survives with a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Goldie) Zeimet of Sutter Creek, Calif., and two sons, Robert of New Albin and Leo of Topeka, Kansas.

Also surviving are a brother, Joseph Thimmesch of Burlington and a sister, Mrs. Leslie (Gladys) Dresselhaus of New Albin. He is survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Rev. Linus Basing officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Herb Zarwell, Marce Kelly, Gil Beeler, Leonard Heiderscheit, Robert Dresselhaus and Ray Zoll.

The Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
