William Earl Gordon, 79, of R.R. 1, New Albin, died Saturday, July 28, in a La Crosse, Wisconsin hospital.
He was born January 20, 1900, in New Albin, to William and Mabel (Ross) Gordon. He married Esther Boltz January 20, 1942, in Lansing, Iowa. She died August 30, 1969. He farmed in the New Albin area and since 1960 he had been a dealer for McConnon’s.
Survivors are seven daughters, Mrs. Don (Belva) Andrews of Chicago; Ruby Gordon of La Crosse, Wisconsin; Mrs. Richard (Lynn) Meiners of Eitzen, Minnesota; Mrs. Dan (Grace) Wellendorf of La Crescent, Minnesota; Mrs. Ron (Evelyn) Burke of Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Dave (Edwina) Steele of New Albin; and Mrs. Dave (Peg) Liljegren of Racine, Wisconsin; four sons, Gary of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; Laughn of Amarillo, Texas; William of La Crescent, Minnesota; and Donald Love of Lansing; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Grace Turner of Sparta, Wisconsin; four brothers, Fred of Waukon, Iowa; Arlie of Lansing, Iowa; John of West Union, Iowa; and Howard of Elkader, Iowa.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and two brothers.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 30, 1979 at the New Albin Chapel. Burial was in the New Albin Cemetery.
Potter-Haugen Funeral Home in Caledonia, Minnesota was in charge of arrangements. .
