Ove C. Rood’s Last Rites Held
Ove C. Rood, 80, of Waukon, died suddenly at his home on July 28 of an apparent heart attack. He was born in Allamakee county to William and Nicolena Leikvold Rood on Nov. 17, 1900. He was a farmer until retiring and moving to Waukon. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Waukon high school.
He married Gina Asleson in Decorah on August 24, 1933. She survives with one son, Wesley, of Waukon; two grandchildren and one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Martha Vold of Waukon, and a brother, Eddie, of Beresford, So. Dakota. Deceased brothers are Paul and Norman, and a sister, Martha, also preceded him in death. He was a member of the West Paint Creek Synod Lutheran Church, where services were held at 1:30 p.m. on July 31 with Rev. Trebelharn and Rev. Milton Tweit officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Cletus Rood, Michael Rood, Kenneth Asleson, Orville Nelson, Joseph Egan and John Luther. Martin funeral home was in charge.
