John Kathan, who in the long ago was a well known resident of Hardin, passed away on Tuesday of this week at his home in Osage, where he has resided for many years. Mr. Kathan was always a great lover of fast horses, having driven in many races, and it is claimed for him that he was the oldest race horse driver in the United States, having been a driver for 70 years.
