Died - In Postville, Iowa, Dec 26, 1874, Mrs. Augustie Hoyer, age 46 years, and wife of Pastor Hoyer. The deceased died very suddenly with appoplexy of the heart, though her health had been impaired many years, was a native of Suarbunecken, Prussia, her father died early, a sacrifice to his medical zeal, she was therefore educated at her uncle's High Baliff of Schwetzinger, Baden.

The wedlock of Rev. Hoyer and his bereaved companion, lasted by 17 years, during which time they were blessed with two sons, the oldest of whom died while young. Two brothers, three sisters, husband and son are left to mourn the loss of the good wife, loving mother and affectionate sister. Rev. Hoyer and his little son have the sympathy of the entire community.
