Former Postville Boy Passes On At Corning.
Thurlo Bollman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oberton Bollman, former local residents, passed away at his home in Corning last Friday afternoon. He had been ill only a few days and had continued to work at his father's dairy until a few days before he passed away. He was 20 years old.
Lloyd Thurlo Bollman was born in Postville, June 22, 1918, the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Bollman. With his family he went to Corning in 1930. He was a graduate of Corning High School and had attended the State University of Iowa for two years. He had relinquished his own ambitions in order to help his father in the dairy business and that his younger brother, Leo, might enter the university.
He is survived by his parents; his brother, Leo, and two sisters, Veneta and Janet Julene; also his grandfather, R. H. Beadle, of Austin, Minn.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the M.E. church in Corning. Mrs. E. W. Green and V. G. Bollman of Castalia, brother and sister of E. O. Bollman, were among those attending the funeral.
