Mabel E. Schroeder

Mabel E. Schroeder, 84, formerly of Dorchester, died Sun., July 15, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Caledonia.

Mabel was born Feb. 16, 1917, in Dorchester to Henry and Lucy (Paus) Weber. On Feb. 5, 1938, she married Robert Schroeder at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Parsonage in Eitzen. Together they farmed on Mabel's home farm in Dorchester.

On Sept. 19, 1991, Robert preceded Mabel in death. Mabel continued to live on the farm until January 1998, when she moved to the Roseview Court in Caledonia. She was a long-time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eitzen, where she served on the Ladies Aid.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Roberta (Jerry) Kiekbusch of Winona, NM, and Janelle (Gary) Eckelberg of Dolliver; 3 sons, James (Lynn) of Grantsburg, WI, Charles (Nancy) of Dorchester, and Fred (Lisa) of Garner; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Fruechte of Swanville, MN.

In addition to her husband, Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gerald Schroeder; a grandson, Travis Eckelberg; and a brother-in-law, Herbert Fruechte.

Funeral services will be held Thurs., July 19, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eitzen. Pastor Todd Krueger will officiate, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeeral Home, 518 W. Main Street, Caledonia, MN, on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
