Mamie L. Halverson

Funeral Services for Mamie L. Halverson were held Saturday, Oct. 28, 1989 at First Baptist Church, Waukon. Rev. Glen Robinson officiated. The Martin Bros. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with burial in Oakland Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Robert, Mark, Scott, and David Halverson, Kenneth Halverson, Jr., Tracy Ehde, Robert Sandry, Jr., Tom Scholtes and Brian Palmer.

Mamie L. Halverson was born Jan. 18, 1899, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Schultz) Warnholtz, in Fayette County, IA. She died Oct. 26, at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon.

She received her education in the Fayette County rural schools. She was married to Martin Halverson Sept. 27, 1917 at Postville.

In addition to being a homemaker, she had been employed as a housekeeper in the Richard Quandahl home and worked at the S&D Cafe. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Waukon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin: 3 children, Frederick, Roger, and Eugene; 6 sisters, Frieda, Edith, Lena, Bertha, Emma, and Lizzy; 3 brothers, Charles, Henry, and John.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. Delila Palmer, Waukon; Mrs. Rodney (Kathleen) Olson, Lansing; Mrs. William (Marilyn) Macke, Bloomington, WI; Mrs. Robert (Marian) Sandry, Lansing; 5 sons, Dorf, Lynn, Leo, Waukon; Harvey, Lansing and Kenneth, Wauzeka, WI; 58 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
