At her residence in Waukon, Tuesday, March 16, 1875, Mrs. Chastina Baird Huffman. The funeral was held at the M.E. church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Huffman was born in Orange township, Ashland Co., Ohio, Nov. 7th, 1831. She was married to P. C. Huffman in Sept. 1851, with whom life passed very happily. Two children mourn her loss. The family had resided in Waukon for ten years and she was widely known, and known only to be respected and loved. For some twenty years she had been a member of the U.B. and M.E. churches. Until a few weeks before her death the future seemed clouded with doubt. But for some weeks preceding her death all doubt had been removed, and for some days before her death her only anxiety seemed to be that she might be released from her suffering. She desired that everyone know that she died trusting in Christ.
