Postville Review, Fri., 9 Oct. 1914.

Edward John Heins, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Heins of Luana, was born on a farm near that place May 27, 1886, and died Oct. 4, 1914, aged 28 years, 4 months and 7 days. Four years ago he came to Postville, working 2 years with Henry Eggert in the implement business, a year with H. J. Schuette in the Ford garage and the past year has been in the auto business for himself. February 20th last he was married to Miss Ruth Poesch of this city. He was confirmed in the Lutheran church of this city under Pastor Bockelmann a number of years ago. He was a quiet. industrious young man of genial disposition, who made a friend of every acquaintance and these sincerely sympathize with the bereaved wife, father, mother, two brothers, five sisters and other relatives who mourn his untimely passing.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church in this city at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. E. Schmidt officiating, and despite the inclement weather and bad roads was the largest gathering of the kind ever assembled here. Interment in Postville cemetery.

The floral offerings were extremely profuse and beautiful, it requiring twenty young men and women to carry them from the home to the church.

Card Of Thanks - We hereby extend our heartfelt and sincere thanks to all the friends for their kindly deeds and comforting words during our recent sad and sudden bereavement. We wish also to thank those who contributed flowers and the young people who carried them, and the chior for their songs.

Mrs. Edward J. Heins and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Heins and family.
