Christoph Salzgeber was born in Daisbach, Germany, Feb. 8, 1835, and died at the home of his son, Louis, at Lake City, Minn., on Tuesday morning, August 16, 1910, at about five o'clock, after a short illness, aged 75 years, 6 months and 8 days.

The deceased, a tailor by trade, had to serve in the German army, after which he was married in 1858 to Elizabeth Burkhardt. To this union were born nine children, four of whom are living, namely -- Mrs. Minna Woessner, of Chicago; Christ, of Postville; Louis, Of Lake City, Minn.; and Fred, of Wapato, Wash.

In 1885 the deceased with his family came to America, settling in Boscobel, Wis. In 1894 they moved to Postville. In 1900 Mrs. Salzgeber died, since which time he has lived with his son Louis. Mr. Salzgeber being an upright and honest man was loved by his fellow citizens, who will miss him

He is survived by three sons, one daughter, two sisters in Germany, a brother in Chicago and another in Boscobel.

The funeral was held in the Lutheran church in this city at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, Aug. 18th, Rev. R. Kuehne officiating. Interment in Postville cemetery.
