Rites Are Held For Mrs. A. Bertelson
Funeral services were held at the Community Presbyterian Church Saturday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Albert Bertelson, 61, who passed away at Postville Hospital following a short illness on Wednesday, September 19.
The rites were in charge of Rev. Walter T. Martin. Burial was in Postville cemetery.
Minnie Marian Gunn, daughter of Robert and Ampheus Gunn, was born February 14, 1891 at Scotland, South Dakota and passed away at the Postville Hospital Wednesday, September 19, 1951.
On October 27, 1913 she was united in marriage to Albert Bertelson at Parker, South Dakota. It was in February 1936 that they moved to Postville.
She became a member of the Presbyterian Church at Scotland, South Dakota when she was 14 years of age and had her letter transferred to the Community Presbyterian Church of Postville on March 25, 1945. She also held membership in the Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and Royal Neighbors.
She served for many years as a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent. Her gracious spirit, kindly heart, and winsome personality, together with her strong desire to serve God and her friends made her a lovable, dependable, and helpful neighbor and organization worker.
Mrs. Bertelson is survived by her husband, Albert Bertelson and one daughter, Mrs. Leon Olson, both of Postville, and one son Robert of Humboldt, South Dakota. Two sons died in infancy.
