Abigail Ohio Ewing was born at Rome, Perry county, Indiana, Dec. 31, 1822, and died in Post township, Allamakee county, Iowa, on Feb. 16, 1906, aged 84 years, one month and 16 days.

She was married to G. J. Livingood at Connelton, Indiana, Feb. 18, 1842. To them were born a daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Smith, and these sons -- Lafayette Ewing, Webster Clay and Edwin Rinaldo Livingood, all of whom are living except Webster and her husband, both of whom preceded her to the life beyond in 1898.

She and her husband came to Allamakee county in 1856, where she has since resided. She was a noble, kind, conscientious woman, who will be sadly missed by relatives and friends.

The funeral was held from the home last Sunday, Rev. Winnegar, of Frankville, officiating. Interment in the Myron cemetery.
