Luther H. McGhee, a former well known resident of this city and locality, passed away at his home in Lansing on Thursday, May 31st, his demise following a protracted period of failing health, that has confined him closely to his home most of the time for the past two years.

He was aged eighty years, ten months and some days.

For many years Lute McGhee was a farmer of the Bethel locality, and upon retiring from the farm he made his home in Postville, where he was known to all as an agreeable friend and companion..

He is survived by his wife and two sons.

The funeral was held from the home in Lansing last Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev, Nading of the Presbyterian church.

Six former friends of deceased from this city officiated as pall bearers, and following the funeral the body was brought to Minert cemetery in Post township for interment.
