Funeral services for Mrs. Ben Davis, former Postville resident, were held January 22 at the Presbyterian Church in Waukon. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.

Mrs. Davis died January 20 at her home in Waukon following a lingering illness of several months. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Nierling (Helen) of Cresco Mrs. Leslie Chelf (Evelyn) of West Union, and Mrs. Delton Winters (Marion) of Dubuque; a sister, Phoebe Colvin of Makee township.

As Mary M. Colvin she was born in Joe Davis county, Illinois, June 6, 1884. She came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Colvin, to Franklin township where they farmed for many years. Her marriage took place October 10, 1906 at the farm home. Mr. and Mrs. Davis settled on a farm in Jefferson where they resided until 1922, when they went to Waukon. Her husband was a former sheriff of Allamakee county.
